Before I went to Havana, I had many mixed comments regarding my trip. Some said, “are you outta your mind gurllllll?” Some said, “Oh my god, TAKE ME WITH YA!”
I’ve always been curious about Cuba. Especially as a Taiwanese, all I knew about the country was communism and intense relationship with the United States. Other than these two, I practically knew NADA about Cuba. I want to learn about the people, I want to taste authentic Cuban food. I want to see the place that gave the world Havana club, I want to try some cigars.
So… I booked my ticket and flew there! Let’s take a look at the photos that I took 😉
Also, how about just follow my Instagram and see my photos?
Street Views of Havana
Do you know that Havana is actually really close to the beach? If yes, good on ya. If no, welcome to the club.
There’s a long strip of road by the ocean called Malecon. On a good and sunny day, I’ve seen plenty of locals, artists, singers, and tourists just chilling at the waterfront. There are people drinking beers, singing, and dancing salsa. A great place to sneak peak in local’s daily life.
We don’t have wifi (like EVERYWHERE in Cuba), but we got CERVEZA which will make talking better!
I’ve seen so many puppies in Old Havana and somehow they were all dresses up. I mean the whole package! Hat, scarf, clothes, and even watches on their tiny paws (awwww 😍)
The government started to allow privatized restaurant since a few years ago so the food scene in Havana has become much more diverse! From authentic Ropa Vieja (Shredded beef) to Italian food… You name it, they have it!
If you like sloppy joe, don’t forget to visit the ORIGINAL SLOPPY JOE’S bar in Havana!
My absolutely favorite bar in downtown, El Chanchullero. Cheap price with quality food and service. Also, they may just have recruited the hottest guys in town to work for them and they are adorable and funny to chat with!
I’ve spent more than a week in Havana and every day was a brand new adventure for me. I absolutely enjoyed my time in Cuba and I hope these photos make you want to visit there too!
